The Psychometrics Centre
The University of Cambridge Psychometrics Centre were looking for illustrations to be used in online assessment to embody five different supporter-type personalities. Together we decided that some of the world’s best bridges could provide a strong metaphor for Pragmatic, Perfectionist, Motivator, Innovator and Mediator supporter personality types.
The Myers-Briggs style personality test would go on to be used internally by the Psychometrics Centre staff to help them understand their strengths more effectively.
Motivator: The Trift Bridge, Switzerland; at 100m high and 170m long, the Trift is one of the most spectacular (and challenging) pedestrian suspension bridge of the Alps.
Perfectionist: The Chengyang Wind and Rain Bridge, Liuzhou, China; the highly detailed and intricate covered bridge or lángqiáo, its surface is paved with wooden boards and five tower-like kiosks with intricate eaves and horns.
Innovator: The Millau Viaduct, France; the tallest bridge in the world and work of art in its own right.
Mediator: The Bosphorous Bridge, Instanbul, Turkey; communicating a bridging of two cultures (East and West).
Pragmatic: The Pont du Gard, France; the highest – and one of the best preserved – of all elevated Roman aqueducts.
